RefleXion Medical, led by Todd Powell, president, and CEO, is developing the RefleXion X1 machine (for Lung Cancer Treatment), a biology-guided radiotherapy system that is cleared for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and intensity-modulated radiation (IMRT). BgRT, includes positron-emission tomography (PET) imaging data to enable tumors to continually broadcast their position. The BgRT system will synchronize this data with the linear accelerator, allowing for a subsecond delay in radiation delivery to malignancies. Because of its ability to identify and treat moving targets, BgRT was recently designated as a Breakthrough Device by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in lung cancers.
