Heirloom | Direct Air Capture | Modular System | Climatetech

Heirloom, led by Co-founder and CEO Shashank Samala, is enhancing natural processes by employing plentiful and inexpensive minerals, a modular system, and established technology and infrastructure using Direct Air Capture Solution to enable minerals to absorb CO2 from ambient air in days rather than years.
By 2035, the business hopes to have removed 1 billion tonnes of CO2 from the environment.
Features
- Affordable
To make oxide that spontaneously binds to COat under ambient circumstances, we employ readily available, low-cost minerals. Then, rather than using energy-intensive and expensive air contactors, we expose them to the air passively. - Permanent
We capture and filter air CO before injecting it underground into geological formations with the help of our partners. It is permanently confined away from the atmosphere in a safe and observable manner there. - Sustainable
Our approach is built to limit extraction and minimise second-order effects. This involves creating a looping process that recycles minerals to reduce our dependency on mining, lowering our overall resource use, and decoupling our system from fossil fuels by employing 100 percent renewable energy. - Compact
- To keep our system’s physical footprint modest, we apply inventive design and aerodynamics. This frees up more area for the restoration and maintenance of vulnerable ecosystems while also avoiding conflicts with human demands such as agriculture and urbanisation.
In short, Heirloom is restoring balance to our atmosphere by removing 1 billion tons of carbon dioxide by 2035. They use natural processes to engineer the world’s most cost-effective Direct Air Capture solution.
